Rosebud
Rosebud, is a Grand Cordon Bleu chef who owns and runs The Porterble Pantry. With nearly twenty years of experience catering and running restaurants in South Africa and aboard, she brings extensive knowledge and passion to every single meal she prepares.
Whisk
Rosebud's career started about age five baking cupcakes in her mum's kitchen. She always knew she wanted to be a chef and after leaving school went to Cape Town to study at the prestigious Silwood Kitchen School of Cookery. She not only graduated as a Grand Cordon Bleu but won the Caltex prize for most promising student and came joint top in her final year. After working in various restaurants in South Africa, Rosebud moved to the UK to further her studies at Prue Leith's world renowned School of Food and Wine in London.
Shaver
After graduating, she ran The Rose restaurant in Fulham and worked under Anthony Worrall Thompson at Zoe's in St Christopher's Place. From London she did a short stint in the snowy Swiss Alps before returning to South Africa to write a cooking course. Keen on more international experience, Rosebud moved to Australia for a year to experience Sydney's trend setting cuisine. She became the first female chef of Jonah's, an exclusive restaurant at Whale Beach along Sydney's beautiful Northern Beaches.
Soup
Returning from Down Under, Rosebud opened The Porterble Pantry in Howick and has been passionately cooking the finest food for hundreds of satisfied clients ever since. She is married to Richard who is always on hand to help each function run smoothly. Rosebud and Richard have three children, William, Chloe and Lucy who have all been known to enjoy making cupcakes!
